Kitakyushu Airport –KKJ Kitakyushu
Kitakyushu Airport with code KKJ is located in Kitakyushu, Japan. It is also called the Kokuraminami Airport. This airfield strip is located in Seto Inland Sea and it is sitting on an artificial island. The airport was opened in 2006 and it was named as New Kitakyushu Airport. It is classified as a second class airport. There are also chartered flights coming from different countries that land in this facility. This is the fourth airport in the country with 24 hours of operation. The construction of the airport started in 1994.

The old airport has several restrictions on its operation because of its size and location. Thus, the new airport was created. Large cargo planes can be able to access the airfield. The first aircraft that land in the airport is the StarFlyer. International chartered flights started in 2008. There are several events that happened during the opening of the airport. It includes a marathon and rugby game. Fusaka, Chinda and Harunaka are just some of the cities that surround the airport.
