Lenox: A Sleepy Community in Southern Georgia
Lenox, Georgia, located in the southern part of the state, is a town under the rule of Cook County. It is home to less than a thousand residents as of the 2010 census and covers a total land area of almost two square miles. The community was platted in 1888, following the railroad extension to the area. It officially became a town in 1901.
Best Time to Visit
November promises visitors with cheap Lenox, GA hotels and a festive city vibe. This is the time of year for the Lean-Ox Festival, held every third weekend of the month and features plenty of vendors, food, and a parade. The winter season is already around the corner, as well, so fewer tourists are coming into the city. Meanwhile, June is the busiest month for tourism and accommodates hundreds to thousands of visitors.
