Allama Iqbal International Airport – LHE Lahore, Pakistan
Originally called the Lahore International Airport, the Allama Iqbal International Airport (LHE) was renamed after one of the inspirations of the Pakistan Movement. Serving Lahore, Pakistan as well as the Punjab province, the airport is located about 15 km from the center of the city. It is the country’s third largest civilian airport in terms of passenger movement. In 2018, expansions have started so that it would be able to handle an increased passenger capacity of 25 millionin the next 20 years from its current volume of over 5 million per year.

At present, the airport has three terminals: the Allama Iqbal terminal, the Hajj terminal and a cargo terminal.There are separate domestic & international departure lounges that can accommodate 1,200 passengers each. During Hajj season, the airport’s daily average flight of 75–80 flights drastically surges. The airport’s apron, on the other hand, has 7 air bridges. Flights take-off and land ontwo parallel runways. The neighboring city of Amritsar in India is an area also being served by the airport.
