Malay: Your Summer Destination in the Pearl of the Orient
The municipality of Malay, Philippines is a first-class municipality in Aklan province. It is known as the home of Boracay Island, which, in turn, is a world-class tourist destination in the southern part of the country. This made Malay the wealthiest town in the province, as the thriving tourism attracts hotels and resorts to the area.
Best Time to Visit
While Malay is best visited in the summer season when the sun is up, and the beach is the perfect way to relax, there are still some tourists who visit the town in the winter, particularly in February. This may be credited to the Boracay Latin Dance Festival that is held for five days on Boracay Island. The event creates a full-on party scene by the beach, attracting both local and foreign tourists to the area. That said, most of Malay, Philippine hotels are already full by this time of year.
What to Do & Area Attractions
Since the city is close to the beach, you should not miss the chance to explore the Caticlan Jetty Port, the Tabon Jetty Port, and the Crystal Cove Island. After a long day of exploring the coastal area of the town, get yourself pampered at the Boracay Actopia Resort, Asya Premier Suites, and Under the Stars Luxury Apartments. These accommodations are a half-hour walk from the Caticlan Jetty Port and offer guests with beachfront suites to relax their days away. The two latter hotels are luxurious accommodations that provide an outdoor pool and airport shuttles.
