McCall, ID: Winter Wonderland
Situated by the southern part of Payette Lake, McCall, Idaho covers a total of 9.88 square miles. It is a resort town with a rich history in the logging industry. Sawmills once stood gloriously around the area until the last mill closed down in 1977. Nowadays, McCall is known for its all year outdoor recreational activities. One statesman even once said it was a 'pleasure resort'. Its famous Winter Carnival drove hundreds of tourists into the area when it began in 1923 and it is still being held annually.

As mentioned above, the Winter Carnival is one of the biggest festivals in McCall, ID. Usually, tourism surges from January to February in time for the festival. McCall, ID hotels such as Rustic Inn and Worldmark McCall are typically packed during this season and prices can become very expensive. Nevertheless, off peak seasons do not limit the experiences offered by McCall.
