Abdul Rachman Saleh Airport – MLG Malang
Abdul Rachman Saleh Airport is located in Malang, East Java in the province of Indonesia. Malang is a large city in East Java, which ranks second in land area. The airport’s name was taken from Abdoel Rachman Saleh who was an Indonesian aviator and psychologist who was shot during the Indonesian National Revolution while landing in Adisucipto International Airport in Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta. The airport is owned by the Government of East Java Province and is both public and military.

Abdul Rachman Saleh Airport was temporarily closed in 2009 because of the damages which might compromise the safety of the aircrafts but soon after repairs were done, it was operational again. On December 2011, a new airport was opened replacing the old terminal used by the Indonesian Air Force. It is located at the South end of the runway. The airlines that operate in the airport are Batik Air, Citilink, Garuda Indonesia, Lion Air, Sriwijaya Air and Wings Air serving destinations to and from Jakarta-Halim Perdanakusuma and Jakarta-Soekarno-Hatta. The airport is approximately 0.36 miles from the city center. It is a small and simple airport with not much of facilities.
