Morrisville: The Hidden Jewel of Central New York
Initially called “Morris Flats”, Morrisville is a small village part of the Madison County in the state of New York named in honor of Thomas Morris, the village’s founder. The village offers plenty of shopping options, restaurants and outdoor recreational activities. There are also three historical sites in the village that was part of the list of the National register of Historic places namely Morrisville Public Library, First National Bank of Morrisville and the Old Madison County Courthouse.

The best time to travel to Morrisville, NY is months from May to September for it has the most ideal temperature to explore the great outdoors. But be sure to book ahead of time for it is also when the village welcomes most of its visitors. Tourism peaks in July while December is the least visited month.

Tourists may start their adventure by riding a bike to the Old Erie Canal State Park that was once a vital shipping route use to transfer commodities to cities and towns all over New York City. Other wonderful place to explore in the heart of New York is the Chittenango Falls State Park, an amazing park that offers hiking trails, playgrounds, fishing and picnic shaded area and of course has the chance to see the beauty of the Chittenango Falls.
