Minot International Airport is based on the outskirts of Minot, North Dakota, and is owned by the City of Minot. It has an airport code of MOT and caters to three passenger airlines. Between 2016 and 2017, the airport’s most popular destination was to Minnesota. It has a concrete runway measuring 1.46 miles and an asphalt runway measuring 1.2 miles. The airport had a busy year in 2012, averaging 224,400 passengers.
Best Time to Visit
The Minot airstrip was constructed in the 1920s. At one point the airport because a military aircraft refueling base. By the 1970s, it began to develop traction as a commercial airline service. The airport currently hosts a few aircraft repair and maintenance businesses, along with fueling stations. By the beginning of 2016, a new terminal, at almost four times the size of the first one, finished construction, with the old one demolished with potential plans to build a car rental business in its place.
