Matsapha Airport – MTS Manzini
Matsapha Airport is located in the city of Manzini, Swaziland which part of the Estawini district. The airport with code MTS is not a commercial one. It only serves government-related flights and what they called as mercy flights. The airport has stopped operations in 2014 after it was replaced by King Mswati III Airport (SHO-King Mswati III Intl.). Airlink is the last airline that flew from this airport. The airport is about 2,000 feet from the sea level. Its runway only measures around 8,000 feet. Manzini is a city in Swaziland and it is the second-largest urban capital of the nation. The city is considered as an industrial site.
Best Time to Visit
Matsapha Airport is now operated by Estawini Civil Aviation Authority. It is only operational around 8 hours a day and doesn’t operate on a weekend. VIP flights or delayed flights can be requested outside the hours of the airport normal operation. King Mswati III International Airport has replaced the status of Matsapha Airport as the only one serving commercial flights in the district. The new airport can handle only up to half a million passengers. Matsapha Airport is near the cities of Malkerns and Mbabane.
