Multan International Airport – MUX
Multan International Airport is a public and military airport that serves the city of Multan, Pakistan. Located about 2.5 miles west of the city, it is currently southern Punjab’s biggest and busiest airport. The MUX area has been used for aircraft activities as far back as 1919 when the United Kingdom’s Royal Air Force flew in and out of the region from the open space.Now, it offers flights all over Pakistan as well as direct flights to other countries, including Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. Multan Airport is served by a number of airlines, including Pakistan International Airlines, flydubai, Qatar Airways, Gulf Air, airblue, Air Arabia, SalamAir, and Saudia. The airport is owned and operated by the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority.

Found at an elevation of 400 feet above mean sea level, the MUX-Multan International Airport has an 18/36 concrete runway that’s capable of handling large aircrafts, such as the Boeing 747, Boeing 777, and A-340. It’s a bustling airport with passenger numbers that reached approximately 1,339,179 in 2018-2019. The new terminal inaugurated in 2015 boosted passenger traffic significantly from 384,571 in 2014-2015 to 904,865 in 2015-2016.
