Nilaveli: Discovering the Coastal Beauty of Northern Sri Lanka
The town of Nilaveli, Sri Lanka, is located in the northernmost portion of the Trinco region. It is considered a beach resort area in the region, as it is facing the open area of Bengal Bay. Nilaveli is also a suburb of the district of Trincomalee and lies 16 kilometers from the northwestern portion Trincomalee. The town has been a popular tourist destination in the area, attracting plenty of hotels, resorts, and accommodations to the city.
Best Time to Visit
Nilaveli experiences hot weather throughout the year with slight chances of rain. The summer season, which also happens to be the busiest in the city, starts in June. When visiting the city in July, expect crowded hotels and attractions, but the tourist population tends to die down come March.

While in Nilaveli, you can visit the Pigeon Island National Park, one of the only two national parks in the region and is found around one kilometer off the coast of the city.
