Nelspruit Airport – NLP Nelspruit
Nelspruit Airport (NLP) is located in Mbombela, South Africa and was originally the city’s only airport until 2001 when Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (MQP) was opened. This public airport is owned/operated by the Mbombela Local Municipality and acts as a general aviation service. More than a hundred aircrafts are using NLP and most are owned by private companies. However, there are also a few commercial airplanes at this airport.
NLP-Nelspruit is also home to various organizations including charter, training, and fire fighting companies. The operations of Nelspruit are limited due to the length of its runway as well as the airport’s structure and topography. Therefore, preventing it from expanding its runway.
