Papaikou: A Big Island’s Paradise
Just a few miles north of Hilo, the county seat of Hawaii County, lies the census-designated place of Papaikou, HI. Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Papaikou, Hawaii is during May, when the weather is fairly pleasant with very little to no chance of hurricanes or too much rain. A majority of tourists, however, arrive between the months of December to February, mostly from colder climates, to bask in the warmth at around these months. The summer months of June through August, on the other hand, are slow months in tourism when Papaiko, HI hotels are priced lower than usual.
What to Do & Area Attractions
When in Papaikou, you can head on over to the lush Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden, the town’s main tourist attraction which is a sanctuary for more than 2,000 species of tropical plants from all over the world.
