Pakse International Airport- PKZ
Pakse International Airport in Pakse, Laos is a military type airport operated by the Military of Laos. This airport is one of the very few international airports available in the region. It serves the areas near the Champasak Kingdom. PKZ Airport was established in 1959. However, it had to close for sometime and was re-opened in 2009 after several renovations and improvements in the airport. ATC was provided in the airport by replacing the short control tower with a new one next to the terminal. The airport also hosts scheduled civilian passenger flights locally and internationally.

The terminal of the airport is designed after the Lan Xang-style architecture, a unique feature that makes the terminal resemble the look of the many Buddhist temples in Laos. PKZ Airport is also the current home of the Lao People's Army barracks. The Military Region 4 Headquarters is also located close to the airport. Lao Airlines and Lao Skyway are the current airlines operating in the airport. Destinations served in the airport include Ho Chi Minh City, Siem Reap, Vientiane, Savannakhet and Luang Prabang. Pakse is the nearest city close to the airport where temples, waterfalls and highlands can be explored.
