Port Louis-Guadeloupe: A Small French Township with Beautiful Beaches
Initially called Pointe antiques, Port-Louis in the north-western part of Grande-Terre was one of Guadeloupe's first sugar ports. Nevertheless, the cultivation of sugar cane remains one of the main economic activities in the commune, along with fishing. Besides these, tourism also contributes to the economy of Port-Louis, Guadeloupe as ancient monuments and a few beaches entertain visiting tourists.
Best Time to Visit
Port-Louis, GP, has high temperatures year-round that make the place feel warm and hot. There's also significant precipitation in most months. The weather usually becomes settled from December to February and from June to August, and the temperature falls between 28°C and 31°C. As there is limited rainfall during these periods, they are the ideal times for those who are not a fan of rainy weather. However, it is recommended to make reservations ahead of these months to avoid high expenditure on Port-Louis, Guadeloupe accommodation.

Around the commune are loads of beach options where you can escape the heat, such as Plage Du Souffleur and Anse Colas. You should also see the Beauport Guadeloupe and learn about the history and culture of the region.
