Puno: Discover the Underrated Lakeside Gem
The city of Puno, Peru is a port city found on the banks of Lake Titicaca, which is the highest commercially navigable lake in the world. While not as famous as other parts of the country, Puno has amazing sights, from historical buildings to stunning peninsulas. Best Time to Visit
Because Puno, Peru is such at a high altitude, the climate can get extremely cold, especially at night. Wintertime from June to August usually sees the temperatures drop below freezing, while the earliest months of the year tends to be rainy. Schedule your trip in between the months of March and May or September and December. Also keep in mind that Puno is one of the highest destinations in the country so acclimatization is necessary.
