Ramatuelle: An Exquisite Village Perched on a Hill
Ramatuelle is a gorgeous village in the Var department in France. It is perched on a hill in the of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. Flower-decked houses can be seen along its narrow streets, while bistros and quaint little shops are dotted across its main square. It also has a thriving arts community as seen in numerous small galleries available in the area. The nearest airport is the La Môle – Saint-Tropez Airport.
Best Time to Visit
Ramatuelle has several must-see events lined up all year, but the months of July to August are the busiest for the local arts community. The annual Temps Musicaux or Musical Times is held every July featuring homegrown performers. In August, Ramatuelle holds the Theatre and Variety festival, as well as the Jazz Music Festival. Ramatuelle FR hotels may cost higher than usual during these months. The crowd volume has been historically low between September and November.
What to Do & Area Attractions
The most iconic landmark in town is the Church of Notre Dame, which was erected in the 16th century. It is also interesting to wander around Ramatuelle's narrow alleys and admire its stone houses decked with flowers. The village's main quarter is Place de l’ormeau, where bistros and cafes are located. Locals also often flock to the nearby Pampelonne Beach in the summer for a quick dip in the ocean. Several guesthouses and resorts are within the vicinity. One of which is Hôtel Epi 1959, an eco-friendly property located between Saint-Tropez and Ramatuelle. Another is Pavillon de Pampelonne, a beautiful hotel with a terrace overlooking the outdoor heated pool.
