The Sierra Blanca Regional Airport is one of the 62 airports in New Mexico. It is located 14 miles northeast of Ruidoso village, Lincoln County, U.S. New Mexico and serves Ruidoso and the nearby areas. The Sierra Blanca Regional Airport code which is RUIis taken from the village itself. It is classified as a public type airport. Its operation started in 1976 and served by seceral commuter airlines such as Roswell Airlines, Airways of New Mexico, Mesa Airlines, Air Ruidoso, Lone Star Airlines, Rio Grande Air, and Pacific Wings which all ended in 2008.
