Juancho E. Yrausquin Airport- SAB-Juancho E. Yrausquin
Situated in the Dutch Caribbean island of Saba, Bonaire, Juancho E. Yrausquin Airport is one of the major airports in the region. Flat Point was the name of the region where the current SAB-Juancho E. Yrausquin stands. Building an airport on the island was an idea from Remy de Haenen together with contractor Jacques Deldevert. The Flat Point was cleared and in 1959, the first aircraft landed on the island of Saba with the whole population as witness of the groundbreaking event.

The airport was named after Junacho Irausquin, Aruban Minister. Known as the airport with the shortest commercial runway in the world at 400 meters. Jet aircrafts won’t be able to fit in the airport due to the short runway making the region close to jet traffic. The most common aircrafts allowed in SAB-Juancho E. Yrausquin are BN-2 Islander and Twin Otters. Winair, one of the locally owned airlines is the only airline with scheduled services to and from this airport.
