Suceava Ștefan cel Mare International Airport - SCV- Stefan cel Mare
The Suceave Stefan cel Mare International Airport, also known as Suceava International Airport is a public airport that serves the area of Suceava, Romania. The terminal is currently operated by the Suceava County Council and located 7.5 miles from downtown Seceava. SCV Airport is named after Stephen the Great, the Prince of Moldavia. The airport is also locally known as Salcea Airport and started its operation in 1962. The airport originally had a concrete runway that had to be removed prompting the airport to close for a while. It was reopened in October 2015 after the runway was replaced by a bigger and asphalt surfaced one.
Best Time to Visit
The SCV features a single asphalt runway in the 16/34 direction and is 2,460 meters in length. The airport is located 419 meters above mean sea level and has a single terminal. Seasonal charter flights are served in the airport via the Air Bucharest, Corendon, TAROM and Nouvelair Airlines. Regular scheduled flights to Bergamo, Memmingen, Rome-Ciampino, London-Luton and Bologna are also available in the airport. Suceava, the largest city in Romania can be enjoyed for its museums and restored 14th century stone castles. From the airport, visit the nearby city of Scheia.
