The perfect time to visit Seymour is during the months of March through May and October through November. Peak tourist season is usually during the months of March, June, and July. Tourists are least likely to visit in December. One of the most famous events in the city is Old Settler’s Reunion and Rodeo, which is held every third week of July. It started in 1896 when the Cowboy Reunion was held. Since then, the event has become an annual meeting for cowmen from western Texas. It features a barbecue, baseball games, rodeo style activities, among others. Another highly anticipated event in the city is Cruisin’ the Brazos, which is held every second week of October. Primarily, it is a celebration of classic cars and the fall season. Some of the event’s highlights are arts and crafts, barbecue, Burnout contest, chili cookoff, displays, and games.
