Shibata: A Lovely Tourist Destination with Great Opportunities for Fun and Relaxation
The history of Shibata in the Tohoku Region started when two villages, Tsukinoki and Funaoka, became towns and were merged in 1956, thus the birth of Shibata. The town of Shibata in the Miyagi Prefecture is now becoming a tourist spot because of its lovely attractions and natural beauty. One of the closest airports to Shibata is the Niigata Airport (KIJ).

It is best to explore Shibata’s vast outdoors during its warm weather months. The best dates to book your flight and Shibata hotel are during the months June to September. The cold season is preferred by some tourists and if you are one of them, then remember it starts on December and ends on March.
What to Do & Area Attractions
On summer, one of the best places to visit is the Shibata beaches. An array of fun water activities is enjoyed in the sandy beaches of the city, from simple sunbathing activities to snorkeling and jet skiing. Nature trips and fun fishing activities may be enjoyed with the family at Michinoku Lakeside National Government Park. If not, another place is worth visiting, the Sportsland SUGO.
The Japanese property, Ryokan SANJIRO, is a famous hotel in the area for its hot spring baths. The Japanese-themed rooms have access to beautiful mountain views and the onsite restaurant serves breakfast and dinner. Another good choice is Baden-ya Soho.
