Sogndal Airport, Haukasen is a regional airport at Haukasen, located a little over six miles from Kaupanger and 12 miles from Sogndal. Also known as SOG, it is the only airport that serves Norway’s Sogn district. SOG began operations on the 1st of July 1971, along with three other regional aerodromes - Forde Airport, Oyrane, Floro Airport, and Orsta–Volda Airport, Hovden. On January 1st of 1997, the municipality of Sognal transferred ownership of the airport to the Civil Aviation Administration, now known as Avinor, which operates most of Norway’s public aerodromes.
