Spencer: A Quieter Side of New York
Spencer is a town that lies in the western area of Tioga, New York. The first settlement in this part of the county occurred in 1974. Its designated name was inspired by Ambrose Spencer, a famous politician and lawyer during that period. This town houses many structures listed under the National Register of Historic Places like the Halsey Valley Grand Army of the Republic Meeting Hall. It is roughly 40 miles away from the Greater Binghamton Airport (BGM).
