Saipan International Airport – SPN
Also referred to as Francisco C. Ada/Saipan International Airport, Saipan International Airport, whose airport code is SPN, is a public airport situated in the island of Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands. The airport is primarily the gateway to the islands and services the islands of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota. During the Japanese South Pacific Mandate, the airport was called Aslito but was then changed to Isley Field during the World War II era. The site of the airport today was actually a sugarcane field in the 1930s before it was developed in 1933 by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service to be used for training.
Best Time to Visit
Covering more than 730 acres, SPN-Saipan International Airport features two runways and an average of 108 aircraft operations daily. The airport is big enough to accommodate wide-bodied aircraft such as 474’s and DC 10’s. Ten airlines land at the airport, most of which are travelingto Asia, specifically from the Philippines, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, and China. There are also flights to Guam. The airport’s main terminal with six jetwayscaters to international passengers daily. From the airport, ride a boat to explore the nearby towns of San Jose and Tinian.

You can easily drive to the nearby hotels of the Micro Beach Hotel, the Chalan Kanoa Beach Hotel, and the posh Saipan World Resort, all of which offers airport transfers as well.
The Northern Mariana Islands is also served by the TIQ-Tinian International Airport, located in the neighboring island of Tinian.
