Surigao Airport – SUG
The Surigao Airport is considered as one of the minor domestic airports in the Philippines. It is located in Bgy. Luna, Surigao City, Surigao del Norte, Philippines and serves Surigao City. Its airport code, SUG, stands for the Surigao del Norte province city’s name Surigao. The tourist spots that surround the city and the province added to the airport’s traffic. In 2017, the airport was hit by an earthquake that caused significant damage to the whole airport. A two-week repair had been done to restore it. Cebgo and PAL Express resumed their operations after the repair. As of the present, the airport has handled passengers from major airports in the Philippines but mostly serves destination to Cebu.
