Telchac Puerto: Fun Port Mexican Town
Telchac Puerto, Mexico is a port town situated about 20 minutes to the east of Progresso. The town is far from big cities and for this reason, it has maintained a relaxed vibe. Although this is the case, the town has a lot of services available like shops, groceries, small market, harbor, gas station and hardware store. Tourists often stay at the town plaza which is shaded by trees. There is also a park with a playground for children. The famous Mayan temples are just a short drive away from the main town. Manuel Crescencio Rejon International Airport (MID) is the nearest airport and about an hour away.
Best Time to Visit
The main plaza is busy during the months of July and August. There is a fair in town with food booths, shops, and rides. Normally, the Telchac Puerto hotels are often full. Aside from locals, there are foreign tourists who visit the town.

Xcambo is a nearby historical ruin that is worth visiting. It showcases the Mayan temples and ruins. There is also the Great Museum of the Maya World that is related to culture. The Cenotes Cuzama is worth the hike. Reef Yucatan All Inclusive Hotel and Convention Center is a 5-star hotel with first-class amenities like a swimming pool and fitness center. Hacienda San Francisco is another casual hotel near the town center. Villas Yessenia has features like an outdoor pool.
