Te Anau Airport – TEU Te Anau
Te Anau Airport with TEU is situated in Te Anau, a city in New Zealand. The airport is approximately located about 2.5 miles from Manapouri and it also almost 8 miles from the city center of Te Anau. The city is found in the southern part of New Zealand. The town is surrounded by a large lake. The airport was built by the airline carrier, Mount Cook Airline. It was for the purpose of the Manapouri Powerstation project that was created in the 1960s. The company then sold the airport to Southland District Council in 2002. They are planning to rebuild the airport facilities to be on par with modern standards.
Best Time to Visit
In 2009, a new passenger terminal was created replacing the old building that was used for maintenance of the airport. The council has also widened and lengthened the runway in order to accommodate large aircraft. The airport is also home to companies that offer chartered flights. Te Anau Hill is one of the cities that surround the airport.

Most accommodations that are nearby the airport are motel or inn. One is the Alpine View Motel, which is less than 10 miles away from the airport. The hotel is just 100 m from Lake Te Anau. Birchwood Cottages is a 4-star accommodation that is set in a beautiful garden. The hotel is just a 5-minute walk to the main city. The units have private patio and have a view of Fiordland.
