Thong Pha Phum: Thailand’s Underrated District
Thong Pha Phum is a district located in the northern Kanchanaburi Province and is often used as a drive-by when tourists need to go to Thong Pha Phum National Park or as a pit-stop. Although the region is not as popular as it nearby towns and districts, there are plenty of unadulterated nature destinations to enjoy and experience in the area. A few to mention includes the famous Thong Pha Phum National Park, together with its sprawling parks, waterfalls and hot springs surrounding the area. Best Time to Visit
Best way to get to this district is through a few local airports then taking a van and bus to it. The ideal weather to visit Thong Pha Phum is from March to November with the months March to May seen as the hottest. The Thong Pha Phum Fruit Festival is one of the colorful events in the region celebrated during the end of June till the first week of July in the district.
What to Do & Area Attractions
Temples are also another interesting attraction in this area and worth the hike. What’s interesting about that there are temples that seem to appear to float over the town whenever night would fall. Make sure to relax in local hot springs like Hin Dat Hot Springs after long treks up these temples. They will certainly revitalize you and take away all the aches of the day.
