Titusville: Dynamic Oil Town
Titusville is not to be confused with the other US cities or towns with a similar name. This particular city in Pennsylvania is the known birthplace of the petroleum industry. It is also noteworthy for its other industries such as lumber, plastic, and tools. Titusville, PA was once the richest city in the United States. It is now a sleepy community to no more than 6000 people.

Titusville, Pennsylvania has a moderately cool and cloudy climate all-year round. It is in the middle of the year when it is the warmest and is perfect for long walks and sightseeing. Yearly, every June the Hearts of the Arts Folk Music Festival and every August the Titusville Oil Festival are celebrated and thus, entice many tourists to visit the city. Hence, during these months the city is busy and Titusville PA hotels are costly.
What to Do & Area Attractions
The greatest attraction in Titusville obviously has something to do with the oil industry. The Drake Well Museum and Park is an interesting museum where you can learn about how petroleum was discovered by Col. Edwin Drake. Less than 25 minutes away, you will also find the Oil City Library with countless of books about the city’s history. Nearby the city, there is also a magical camping grounds next to a lake – the Woodcock Lake Park. It is a bit unfortunate that there are no immediate Titusville hotels available within the vicinity of the city.
