Takoradi Airport is a military-used airport with a designated IATA airport code of TKD, located in Takoradi, which is the capital city of Ghana’s Western Region. The airport was being operated by Ghana Air Force, which serves the military air traffic operations of the twin city of Sekondi and Takoradi. The twin city is known for their stunning beaches including Busua Beach and Axim Beach. Takoradi Airport is primarily used for general aviation or for private recreational transport and but was catered by one airline, Africa World Airlines bound to Accra.

It was also been used as post of the Royal Air Force, UK’s combat force branded as RAF Takoradi. This airport also serves as the hub of 26 Squadron SAAF during the war soaring Vickers Wellington, a medium bomber aircraft, to patrol the Atlantic.
