Radin Inten II International Airport – TKG
The Radin Inten II International Airport is Lampung province’s only commercial airport. The airport is located within Bandar Lampung in South Lampung Regency and serves Lampung Province, Indonesia and the nearby towns. The Raden Inten II International Airport, whose airport code is TKG, was named after Raden Inten II, the last sultan of Lampung. The airport was organized by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation Ministry of Transportation’s Technical Implementation Unit.It was only in 2018 that the airport has acquired the status of being an international airport. This change is due to the purpose of making direct flight from Lampung to Mecca by the Lampung pilgrims.

TKG-Radin Inten II International Airport was constructed by the Japanese in 1942 during the 2nd World War with the purpose of establishing better position againstAllied forces. During that time, it was called Branti Airport. When Indonesia declared independence, the airport was turned over to Indonesian Air Force and was used as a military facility. In 1955, Indonesia Air Force was relocated to Menggala, North Lampung Regency.The airport was then taken over by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and handed over to Lampung Residency. Construction of the runway began in 1976 and the airport was opened as civilian airport. In 1995, the airport was renamed to its present name. You can enjoy the city of Bandar Lampung by landing to the TKG.

There are a handful of hotels around the airport, but the Novotel Lampung, the 4-star Sheraton Lampung Hotel and the Horison Lampung are all within 10 to 20 minutes from the airport.
