Trivandrum International Airport – TRV
The Trivandrum International Airport is the Kerala state’s second busiest airport and India’s fourteenth busiest airport. It is also the first airport in Kerala and the fifth international airport of India. The airport is located and serves Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India and the nearby towns. The Trivandrum International Airport, whose airport code is TRV, dates back to 1932 when it took part as Royal Flying Club. Colonel Raja Goda Varman, a trained pilot and brother-in-law of the King of Travancore Kingdom during that time,initiated the establishment of the airport. It was only in 1970 when the airport initiated its international operations.
Best Time to Visit
The TRV-Trivandrum International Airport was first landed by an aircraft in 1935 and later in the same year had its first flight as mail carrier of Royal Anchal to Bombay. In 1938, the airport was placed with the first Squadron of the Royal Indian Air Force. Air India was the first international airline that operated in the airport in 1970. In 1980 onward, more international flights were served in the airport by Indian Airlines, Sri Lankan Airlines, and Air Maldives. As of the present, the airport accommodates 16 airlines and 23 destinations. The tourists' sites of the cities of Colachel, Kanyakumari, and Marungoor can be easily accessed from the airport.

There are a handful of hotels around and near the airport. With its convenient location, the 4-star Uday Suites is the first choice as it is the closest. You can also stay for a night at the Saj Luciya or the nearby Classic Sarocar Portico.
