Tawau Airport - TWU
Tawau Airport owned by the Government of Malaysia is a public airport in Tawau, Malaysia. The airport serves the areas of Sabah and the Tawau Division. It is currently under the operation of Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad. TWU Airport is one of the two airports in Sabah that features immigration services for international flights. Other nearby locations close to the airport are Kapalai, Mabul and Mata Chinta. The airport has a single operational asphalt runway 8,809 feet in length.

Tawau Airport has a current capacity of 1.8 million passengers in a year and is considered to be the second largest airport in Sabah. The airport is already equipped with Instrument Landing Systems, two aero bridges and a terminal that has a mezzanine. Eight aircrafts can be served in the airport at a time as well as 500 vehicles in its parking space. Safety is quite commendable in the airport that has a police station located opposite the terminal building. Tawau, the third largest town in Sabah features chocolate museums, volcanoes, mountains and hiking areas perfect for outdoor recreation and relaxation.
