Chinggis Khaan International Airport – ULN Ulaanbaatar
Serving the city of Ulaanbaatar, in Mongolia, Chinggis Khaan International Airport is an airport previously known as Buyant Ukhaa Airport and is set 18 kilometers southwest of the capital. It was first recognized on February 1957 and began handling international flights in 1958. In 1961, regular flights in the airport started. It is the country of Mongolia’s biggest international air facility. As of today, Chinggis Khaan International Airport handles flights from ten airlines. To celebrate the 800th year of the establishment of a Mongolian state, the airport was renamed after Chinggis Khaan (Genghis Khan).
Best Time to Visit
Changgis Khaan International is a single runway airport. It has one passenger terminal with two floors. The first floor is allocated for the arrivals while the second floor is for the departures. There is a business lounge in Floor 2 of the terminal and a few restaurant and café are also available in Floor 1. A clinic is also open 24 hours for first aid services and emergency needs. You can buy some souvenirs and gifts at the duty free outlet in the airport. The cities of Ulaanbataar, Terelj and Bayandelger are the ones closest to ULN Ulaanbataar.

Unfortunately, there are no onsite hotels in Chinggis Khaan International Airport. But that will not be a problem since a lot of ULN Ulaanbataar hotels are available nearby. Baigal Hotel is only 8 kilometers away from the airport. The place has a bar and a restaurant. And guests can also enjoy the views of the city. The Best Western Gobi’s Kelso is also one of the best value hotels. It also has a bar and fitness center. Some of the well-known tourists spots are just a few-minute drive away.
