Con Dao Airport – VCS Co Ong
Con Dao Airport, located northeast of Con Son Island, lies in the middle of a valley flanked by mountains. On the east of the airport, whose IATA code is VCS, lies Co Ong Bay; the south end of the airport is bordered with three mountains, rice fields and the Co Ong residential area. Also referred to as Con Son Airport, VCS Co Ong is situated 14 km from the town center of Con Dao, Vietnam. Originally constructed for military purposes during the French colonial period, Con Dao now handles civil flights as well, and serves as a gateway that allows the district of Con Dao to trade with the mainland. VCS Airport handles flights to and from three destinations through five airlines.

Con Dao Airport was renovated in 2003 upon the initiative of the Southern Airports Corporation. The upgrades allowed the airport to accommodate bigger aircraft. In 2004, VCS Airport started handling eight civil flights a week. Today, the airport averages about 11 flights per day. VCS Airport has one terminal that can accommodate up to 200 passengers at a time, two gates and six check-in counters.
