Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center an academic medical center and is considered the largest employer in Winston-Salem, Forsyth County. It employs more than 13,000 employees housed in a total of 192 buildings in a 428-acre space. It is an award-winning hospital in areas of cancer, ear, nose, and throat, gastroenterology and GI surgery, nephrology, neurology, neurosurgery, pulmonology, and urology.
