Waterford Airport – WAT Airport
Waterford Airport is a public airport under the Waterford Regional Airport in Waterford, Ireland. This airport mainly serves the southeastern regions of Ireland. A single route flight is the only one served in the airport via the VLM Airlines before the airline discontinued its services in the airport in June 2001 leaving no scheduled traffic in the airport. At present, there are no scheduled flights served in the airport. Major renovations and expansions are being implemented in the airport after a grant of 12 million Euro for the improvements in the airport.
Best Time to Visit
WAT Airport has a single asphalt runway originally 1,433 meters long and is being expanded to 1,585 meters. The terminal currently has four check-in decks, and information desks, two baggage carousels and two boarding gates. Car parking spaces are around 200 and several snack bars operates in the terminal. Back in 2004 to 2008, Aer Arann saw a steady growth in passenger traffic served in WAT Airport. Flybe also temporarily served flights in the airport from 2012 to 2015. The medieval town of Kilkenny is just a few minutes away from the airport and a stunning destination not to be missed when you visit.

Travelodge Waterford is also a quaint but relaxing accommodation you can access within five to ten minutes away from the airport.
