Manihi Airport – XMH Manihi
Manihi Airport (XMH) is an airport in Tuamotu Archipelago in Manihi, French Polynesia. This medium-sized airport has domestic flights going to several destinations within French Polynesia. Air Tahiti is the only airline servicing the town of Manihi.
Air Tahiti flies to Ahe and Papeete with the latter serving as the capital of French Polynesia. There are currently 44 flights passing through XMH and nine routes connecting Manihi Airport to several cities. The most popular destinations are Ahe, Raiatea, and Rangiroa.
Best Time to Visit
There is no international airport in Manihi or cruise lines. XMH caters to domestic flights with Air Tahiti flying to XMH daily and arriving once a day. Manihi Airport is a simple airstrip with minimal facilities including a hut that acts as the airport’s arrival and boarding arrival area. XMH serves the towns of Manihi and Ahe.
What to Do & Area Attractions
There are no airport hotels available in XMH. A hotel representative upon the arrival of guests, including a shuttle for transfer will welcome guests who already booked their accommodation near the airport. Meanwhile, a shuttle is also available for other passengers, which will take them to the opposite end of the runway for baggage claiming and transfers.
The only commercial hotel available on the atoll is Manihi Pearl Beach Resort. This five-star hotel and resort is just a five-minute walk and is very near the airport. However, guests are still encouraged to get an airport transfer. The nearest airport to Manihi is Ahe Airport (AHE) with a distance of 12.4 miles.
