Iqaluit Airport – YFB Iqaluit

Iqaluit Airport (YFB) is located next to Iqaluit, Nunavut in Canada. YFB- Iqaluit offers scheduled passenger flights from several destinations including Montreal, Ottawa, Kuujjuaq, and Rankin Inlet via Canadian North and First Air. Other destinations and routes include smaller towns throughout the eastern region of Nunavut.

This airport is run by the Nunavut government under a contract with the Nunavut Airport Services, a division of the Winnipeg Airports Authority. YFB acts as a diversion airport for polar routes. This airport is categorized by Nav Canada, as an airport of entry while the Canada Border Services Agency is the one handling the general aviation in YFB Airport.

YFB-Iqaluit consists of one major runway, two hangars, one terminal building, and a control tower. The hangar used to be the airport’s original terminal building before it was changed in 1986. The Airport Fire Department supports YFB’s operations with additional service from the Iqaluit Fire Department.
