Michel-Pouliot Gaspe Airport – YGP Gaspe
Michel-Pouliot Gaspe Airport or simply known as Gaspe Airport has YGP code and situated at Gaspe, Quebec. The airport is about 3.25 miles from the centre of Gaspe. The said airport is non-towered however it has a mandatory frequency that is linked to a flight service station found in Mont-Joli. The airport is also equipped with instruments that are perfect if the area has poor weather. The airport is located in the valley. For this reason, it is open to the winds coming from the sea and terminating in the highland area. Aircraft prefers to approach on the east side of the airport.
Best Time to Visit
Transport Canada constructed the airport in 1965. After two years, it handed the control to the municipality. Although this is the case, the company is still subsidizing the airfield. The terminal was built in 1972. In 1974, a hangar and flight service was also created. When you land at the YGP, you can visit the nearby cities of Cap-des-Rosiers and Douglastown.
