The old terminal was converted to domestic activities since the construction of the larger terminal in 2012. In the same year, the airport's operation was transferred to a private company that now runs the BJV on behalf of the government. Both terminals accommodate more than 2.5 million passengers annually. The tourist population starts peaking in the summer when the airlines start their charter flights to major destinations in Europe.
