Hope Island: Vacationing in the Affluent Gold Coast
A suburban area on the Gold Coast of Queensland, Hope Island, Australia was once an area prone to flooding because of its proximity to the Coomera River. Named after Captain Luis Hope – an aristocrat who helped establish Queensland’s sugar industry, Hope Island is home to the gated Hope Island Resort that features facilities such as a marina and an 18-hole golf course. You can get to Hope Island, Australia through the Brisbane Airport (BNE), which is about a 57-minute drive.
Best Time to Visit
The Gold Coast has great weather most of the year. If you do not like the crowds, steer clear of tourist season and school vacation in December-February. Summers are wonderful but busy so be ready to shell out more for Hope Island lodging and accommodations. Shoulder seasons spring (September-November) and autumn (Mar-May) are ideal. One of the crowd-drawing events in the suburb is the annual Sanctuary Film Festival held either in November or December.
