International Home Furnishings Center, High Point, North Carolina, United States of America
The International Home Furnishings Center in High Point, North Carolina is home to the High Point Market (or what was once called the International Home Furnishings Market and the Southern Furniture Market). This is the largest home furnishings industry trade show in the world happening twice a year. The center serves as an exposition place catering to the furniture cluster in the region.
Hotels become abuzz with activity once the trade shows open and some of the most sought-after ones include the Red Lion Hotel High Point, located off Interstate 85 and 74 and has a central location in the city's business district. The Atrium Inn is a few minutes away from the center as well as from other important places in the city. The elegant and upscale J.H. Adams Inn which occupies an Italian Renaissance-style mansion is also within the vicinity. Greensboro and Jamestown are two of the closest cities to High Point and can be easily reached from Airbound Trampoline Park Greensboro, an amusement center with trampolines, a rock wall, and arcades. The Richard Petty Museum, a space showcasing NASCAR legacy is another interesting site that’s close by. Since High Point is acknowledged as the "the furniture capital of the world,” it is only fitting that its most popular attraction is the whimsical 32-ft. Victorian dresser–shaped building known as the World's Largest Chest of Drawers which is located in a neighborhood near the furniture marts.
