Ithaca Tompkins Regional Airport – ITH
Ithaca, New York is the only city in Tompkins County and is currently being served by the airport: Ithaca Tompkins Regional Airport. The airport was originally located near Cayuga Lake before Cornell University constructed and opened the now ITH – Ithaca airport situated at East Hill. It was a former air base during the World War II. In 2001, its previous name Tompkins County Airport was replaced.
Best Time to Visit
Ithaca Tompkins Regional Airport has only one passenger terminal and two runways. Three airlines, namely Delta Airlines, American Airlines, and United Airlines service direct flights to and from Detroit, Philadelphia, and Washington Detroit respectively. ITH is home to the Taughannock Aviation – provider of business jets and East Hill Flying Club – for those aspiring to learn how to fly a plane. The cities of Fulton and Camillus are a cab away from the ITH.

Adjacent to the ITH – Ithaca airport is a hotel, Courtyard by Marriott Ithaca Airport/University, with free airport shuttle and swimming pool on site. Inside the famous Cornell University, located about 4 miles away from the airport, is The Statler Hotel at Cornell University that is highly rated by travelers and also offers complimentary airport transfer services.
The nearest international airport is at Syracuse, New York. It is about an hour to an hour and a half drive away from ITH – Ithaca airport to Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR).
