Wattay International Airport - VTE
This airport is the hub for Lao Airlines and Lao Skyway. Located in the Sikhodtabong District of Vientiane, Laos, the Wattay International Airport (VTE) is the country’s main international entryway. It serves Vientiane, the Laotian capital city, and has in recent years seen numerous upgrades to provide visitors with a more comfortable travel experience. In 2018, the airport opened a larger terminal connected to its older terminal to better cater to more international flights. As an international airport, travelers can find various services such as currency exchange and ATMs, shops, restaurants, and tourist help desks.

The airport is operated by the Military of Laos, which features one asphalt runway. One end of the airport is occupied by a Lao Air Force installation. Also on the airport property are the head offices of Lao Air, and the Department of Civil Aviation. Passengers of Wattay International Airport can reach and exit the terminal via private car, taxi, shuttle bus, or tuk-tuk. Wattay International Airport is the airport of choice for those wanting to visit the tourism town of Vang Vieng.
