Sarnia Chris Hadfield Airport is a public airport located in Sarnia, Ontario. It is operated by the City of Sarnia and serves the residents of Sarnia. Nav Canada classifies the airport as an airport of entry. Because of this, the airport is staffed by Canada Border Services Agency. The officers serving the airport is also able to handle aircrafts that contains 30 passengers or less.
Best Time to Visit
YZR Airport has been serving Sarnia-Lambton for more than 60 years now. The airport was first built during the late 1950s. Later on in 1958 the runways were paved and in December of the same year, scheduled flight services began operating in the airport. By the 1960s, YZR Airport became a regular stop for Sarnia Airlines and Nordair Airlines. Aside from passenger service, flight training and FBO services are available in the airport. Today, flight services are offered by Air Canada. Nearby cities such as Westland, Sylvan Lake, and Royal Oak among many others use the airport for air travel.
