Bridge of Sighs, Venice, Italy
The Bridge of Sighs, or commonly known as Ponte dei Sospiri in Italian, is an enclosed bridge in Venice made of white limestone and windows of stone bars. This bridge passes over the Rio de Palazzo and connects to Prigioni Nuove. The Bridge of Sighs is a memorable place for prisoners in the 19th century wherein this is the thing that convicts can see before their imprisonment. It is suggested by Lord Byron that prisoners deserved to sigh at their final view before their death execution. In 1979, there's a film that took place in the Bridge of Sighs called "A Little Romance" where it features a story of a French boy and an American Boy with hopes to seal their love in a lifetime and they kissed beneath the Bridge of Sighs at a beautiful sunset. In 1984, British Rock Band Marillion made the song "Jugsaw" where it referred The Bridge of Sighs.
