C-mine Cultural Centre
C-mine Cultural Centre is a regional cultural centre that is located in Genk, Belgium. Designed by 51N4E, its Brussel-based architects, the building was completed in 2010, reworking the coalmining complex’s powerhouse buildings into a pair of various scaled auditoria, meeting rooms, accommodation for administration and technical support, and spaces for cultural programming. This recreational and cultural site also features a museum showcasing the mining activities that took place in the site before. Tourists get attracted to this site as it now holds a cultural centre, a museum, a movie theatre, restaurant, and office spaces. School of Arts is even located within this landmark. In addition to the site’s charm and elegance, a Fablab is there to teach both tourists and locals such techniques as 3D printing.
