National Centre for the Performing Arts, Mumbai, India
One of the premier cultural institutions of India, the National Centre for the Performing Arts, had been showcasing performances for 50 years. Inaugurated in 1969, the institution is situated in Mumbai, India, the wealthiest city in the country. Home of the Symphony Orchestra of India, the National Centre for the Performing Arts or NCPA, was the first multi-genre cultural center in South Asia. Throughout the years, NCPA had hosted various performances, such as classical and contemporary arts, theatre, dance, and music. The center was created to preserve and promote the rich and vibrant heritage of India.
The National Centre for the Performing Arts had attracted not only local artists to perform in the institution, but there had been notable international performers including the full-length classical ballet of New Jersey Ballet, with its Nutcracker production.
